On Friday 19 July 2019, the Plumbing and Gas Industry Awards will be celebrating the 20th year of recognising the excellence of businesses, individuals and projects in the industry.
Since its formation, the Plumbing and Gas Industry Awards have recognised over 200 leading companies and individuals across Queensland. This includes apprentices, industry leaders and mentors, gas installation projects, domestic and residential work and women in the industry to name a few.
Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland (MPAQ) are encouraging both people in the industry and members of the public to nominate in this year’s milestone event.
Penny Cornah, Executive Director of MPAQ, said “It’s important to celebrate the accomplishments of businesses and recognise leading professionals of our industry.”
“Plumbing is a lifesaving industry and by acknowledging the exceptional work of everyone who contributes to it, we are able to celebrate the vital work they do day to day.”
Beavis and Bartels won three awards at the 2018 event – QLeave Commercial and Industrial Technical Award, Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland Commercial Type A Gas Installation of the Year and the Department of Housing and Public Works Innovation award.
Matthew Ryan, Hydraulic Engineer for Beavis and Bartels, said “If you get the chance to nominate your company or business for an award I would definitely recommend it, receiving an award in front of your peers at an industry night is definitely a moment you will not forget.”
This year a number of new categories have been added to the program recognising passive fire projects, business excellence and an individual plumber, drainer or gas fitter.
Ms Cornah said “These new awards allow us to highlight the comprehensive skills and talents in our industry that were not being recognised previously.”
Nominations close on Friday 12 April 2019. Visit the Awards tab for more information and to nominate.
The awards will be held on Friday 19 July 2019 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 6.30pm.
