Who is Andrea Vogler?
Andrea Vogler was a pioneer for women in a male dominated industry and was dedicated to contributing to the gas industry over many years.
This award, proudly supported by Austbrokers Comsure, recognises a female who has excelled and contributed to business practices, as well as encouraged the growth of female participation in the plumbing, drainage, or gas industry.
Eligibility
The following requirements must be met in order to be eligible for this award category:
- Candidates must be female and be able to show leadership in business practices within the plumbing and/or gas industry, as well as contributions to other females' participation.
- Candidates must work in a plumbing and/or gas business based in Queensland, Australia.
- The business of the candidate must hold a registered ABN.
- Candidates can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.

Nominees will be evaluated based on:
- Contribution to female participation in the industry – Demonstrated impact on increasing female representation and support for women in the industry.
- Leadership and vision – Evidence of leadership in business practices, strategic direction, and long-term vision.
- Industry awareness – Understanding of current industry challenges and trends and their application to the business.
- Business initiatives and planning – Implementation of innovative or unique business strategies that improve operations, growth, or sustainability.
- Workplace attitude and culture – Fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment, promoting diversity, and enhancing morale.
- Customer relationship management – Commitment to strong customer relationships, service excellence, and client satisfaction.
- Adaption to industry changes – Ability to adjust to evolving market conditions, regulations, and industry trends.
- Industry involvement – Active participation in industry events, organisations, or advocacy efforts.
- Mentoring and leadership – Engagement in mentoring, supporting, and inspiring other professionals, particularly women.
- Completion of the nomination questionnaire, providing insights into the candidate’s leadership, business contributions, and industry involvement.
- Submission of a minimum of 10 high-resolution photos showcasing the candidate’s professional achievements and participation in the industry.
- Optional: Video footage discussing leadership, business achievements, or contributions to female participation.
- Employer, colleague, or industry peer reference supporting the nomination.
Failure to submit any required information by the stated deadlines may result in disqualification.
Following the completion of the judging, all finalists for this award will be notified and invited to attend the 2025 Plumbing & Gas Industry Awards. All award finalists can purchase tickets at the finalist rate (limit 10 per finalist) – equal to the early bird member discounted price.
Finalists may also be asked to participate in media opportunities but will be contacted first by MPAQ to assess interest.
If you are the winner of this award category, you will receive:
- A trophy, gift and certificate.
- A $500 bursary to be used for future training, skills development, or equipment to assist in your role. This amount must be utilised by 31 December 2026.
- Public recognition at the 2025 Awards Presentation Dinner and a feature in the Summer 2025 edition of the Master Plumber Magazine.
