Proudly supported by RWC, this award recognises an individual who has excelled as a businessperson within the plumbing, drainage, or gas industry, demonstrating strong leadership, business acumen, and industry impact.

Eligibility

The below requirements must be met to be eligible for this award category:

  • Candidates must work in a plumbing and/or gas business based in Queensland, Australia.
  • The business of the candidate must hold a registered ABN.
  • Candidates can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.

Nominees will be evaluated based on:

  • Leadership and vision – Demonstrated ability to lead a business effectively, set clear goals, and inspire others.
  • Industry awareness – Understanding of market trends, regulatory changes, and innovations within the plumbing and gas industry.
  • Unique business initiatives and planning – Implementation of innovative business strategies, growth initiatives, and long-term planning.
  • Workplace attitude – Commitment to fostering a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment.
  • Customer relationship management – Strong client relations, customer satisfaction, and retention strategies.
  • Adaptation to changing business requirements – Ability to respond effectively to industry shifts, technological advancements, and economic conditions.
  • Industry involvement – Participation in industry events, associations, and initiatives that support the plumbing and gas sector.
  • Influence and contributions to workplace culture and morale – Commitment to team development, staff engagement, and fostering a supportive work culture.
  • Mentoring – Supporting and guiding employees, apprentices, or other business professionals within the industry.
  • Completion of the nomination questionnaire, providing insights into the candidate’s business leadership and industry contributions.
  • Submission of a minimum of 10 high-resolution photos showcasing business operations, leadership, or workplace initiatives.
  • Optional: Video footage discussing leadership, business achievements, or workplace contributions.
  • Evidence of industry involvement and business acumen – Internal business documents, financial growth data (optional), testimonials from customers and clients, or case studies.
  • At least one professional reference from an industry peer, client, or business associate supporting the nomination.

Failure to submit any required information by the stated deadlines may result in disqualification.

Following the completion of the judging, all finalists for this award will be notified and invited to attend the 2025 Plumbing & Gas Industry Awards. All award finalists can purchase tickets at the finalist rate (limit 10 per finalist) – equal to the early bird member discounted price.

Finalists may also be asked to participate in media opportunities but will be contacted first by MPAQ to assess interest.

If you are the winner of this award category, you will receive:

  • A trophy, gift and certificate.
  • Public recognition at the 2025 Awards Presentation Dinner and a feature in the Summer 2025 edition of the Master Plumber Magazine.
