Domestic Plumbing or Gas Project of the Year

This award, proudly supported by Plumbing Plus, recognises the most outstanding work performed on a domestic/residential plumbing, drainage, or gas project in Queensland, highlighting excellence in workmanship, innovation, safety, and industry standards.

Eligibility

The below requirements must be met to be eligible for this award category:

  • The project must be a Class 1 or 10 building.
  • The project must be under construction or completed between April 2024 – April 2025.
  • All plumbing and drainage work must be performed by a Queensland licensed plumber/drainer.
  • All gas work must be performed by a Queensland licensed gasfitter.
  • Companies must be QBCC licensed in the relevant field and based in Queensland, Australia.
  • The project must be based in Queensland, Australia.
  • All work must be available for judging through photos and video evidence, as site inspections will not be conducted.
  • Projects can be nominated by the company, staff personnel, or an external party.

Nominees will be evaluated based on:

  • Compliance with Australian Standards – Adherence to industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Quality of Work and Aesthetics – High standard of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall appearance of work.
  • Effectiveness of Work – Practicality, functionality, and efficiency of the plumbing or gas installation.
  • Use of New Products – Integration of advanced technologies or modern materials to improve project outcomes.
  • Innovative Work – Implementation of creative solutions, unique approaches, or cutting-edge methodologies in project execution.
  • Safety Practices and Compliance – Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety protocols, risk management, and adherence to WHS regulations.
  • Completion of the nomination questionnaire, providing insights into the project scope, challenges, safety measures, and technical aspects.
  • Submission of a minimum of 10 high-resolution photos showcasing on-the-job work, project outcomes, and key installations.
  • Optional: Video footage demonstrating technical skills, project walk-throughs, or key design features.
  • Company reference or supporting documentation validating the work and its impact.

Failure to submit any required information by the stated deadlines may result in disqualification.

Following the completion of the judging, all finalists for this award will be notified and invited to attend the 2025 Plumbing & Gas Industry Awards. All award finalists can purchase tickets at the finalist rate (limit 10 per finalist) – equal to the early bird member discounted price.

Finalists may also be asked to participate in media opportunities but will be contacted first by MPAQ to assess interest.

  • A trophy, gift and certificate.
  • Public recognition at the 2025 Awards Presentation Dinner and a feature in the Summer 2025 edition of the Master Plumber Magazine.
