Outstanding Copper Plumbing & Gas Project of the Year
This award, proudly supported by MM Kembla, recognises the most outstanding and/or innovative commercial or industrial project or design involving copper by a plumbing, drainage, or gas industry business.
Eligibility
The below requirements must be met to be eligible for this award category:
- The project must be a Class 2 – 9 building (not a Class 1 or 10).
- The project must be under construction or completed between April 2024 – April 2025.
- All nominations, whether completed or still under construction, must have photo and/or video evidence of exposed work, as site inspections may not be carried out.
- All work must be performed by a Queensland licensed plumber, drainer, or gas fitter.
- Companies must be QBCC licensed in the relevant field.
- The project must be based in Queensland, Australia.
- Projects can be nominated by the company, staff personnel, or an external party.

Nominees will be evaluated based on:
- Compliance with Australian Standards – Ensuring all work adheres to relevant regulations and codes.
- Implementation of Innovative Products or Approaches – Use of cutting-edge techniques, methods, or copper-related solutions.
- Use of Copper Fittings and Products – Demonstrated integration of copper components throughout the project.
- Quality of Work and Aesthetics – Evidence of superior craftsmanship and attention to detail in project execution.
- Effectiveness of Work – Functionality, efficiency, and longevity of the copper installation within the project.
- Use of New Products – Incorporation of the latest copper-based technologies or advancements in materials.
- Safety Practices and Compliance – Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety protocols, risk management, and adherence to WHS regulations.
- Completion of the nomination questionnaire, providing insights into the project scope, challenges, and innovative aspects.
- Submission of a minimum of 10 high-resolution photos showcasing on-the-job work, project outcomes, and copper installations.
- Optional: Video footage demonstrating technical skills, project walk-throughs, or key design features.
- Company reference or supporting documentation validating the work and its impact.
Failure to submit any required information by the stated deadlines may result in disqualification.
Following the completion of the judging, all finalists for this award will be notified and invited to attend the 2025 Plumbing & Gas Industry Awards. All award finalists can purchase tickets at the finalist rate (limit 10 per finalist) – equal to the early bird member discounted price.
Finalists may also be asked to participate in media opportunities but will be contacted first by MPAQ to assess interest.

- A trophy, gift and certificate.
- Public recognition at the 2025 Awards Presentation Dinner and a feature in the Summer 2025 edition of the Master Plumber Magazine.
