This award recognises an emerging professional who has demonstrated exceptional potential, commitment, and impact early in their career within the plumbing and gas industry.
Eligibility
The requirements below must be met to be eligible for this award category:
- Candidates must be an apprentice, recently qualified tradesperson, trainee, or early career professional in the plumbing or gas industry
- Candidates must demonstrate strong professional growth and commitment
- Candidates must be employed by a business operating within the plumbing and construction sector

Nominees will be evaluated based on:
- Commitment to the Industry
Demonstrates genuine passion for the plumbing and gas industry. Shows dedication to learning, professional development, and long term career progression within the trade. - Technical Skills and Competence
Exhibits strong technical ability and practical skills relative to experience level. Consistently produces high quality work and adheres to safety, compliance, and industry standards. - Work Ethic and Reliability
Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and professionalism. Is dependable, proactive, and willing to go above and beyond in their role. - Initiative and Problem Solving
Shows the ability to identify challenges and contribute practical solutions. Embraces new methods, tools, or technologies to improve outcomes. - Team Contribution and Culture
Makes a positive contribution to team dynamics and workplace culture. Supports colleagues, apprentices, or peers and demonstrates respect, collaboration, and leadership potential. - Leadership and Future Potential
Displays emerging leadership qualities and the potential to become a future leader within their business and the industry.
- Completion of the nomination questionnaire
- Submission of a minimum of 10 high-resolution photos showcasing the candidate’s professional achievements and participation in the industry.
- Examples of performance, initiatives, and contributions, supported by testimonials from employers, supervisors, or peers
- Evidence of relevant training, qualifications, and industry involvement
- Failure to submit any required information by the stated deadlines may result in disqualification.
Following the completion of the judging, all finalist businesses for this award will be notified and invited to attend the 2026 Plumbing & Gas Industry Awards. All award finalists can purchase tickets at the finalist rate (limit 10 per finalist) – equal to the early bird member discounted price.
Finalists may also be asked to participate in media opportunities but will be contacted first by MPAQ to assess interest.

- A trophy, gift and certificate.
- Public recognition at the 2026 Awards Presentation Dinner and a feature in the Summer 2026 edition of the Master Plumber Magazine.
